FAQs

Learners to Leaders Academy

  • What ages of children do you accept?

We provide care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our programs include infant care, toddler care, preschool, and pre-k, each designed to support children's development at different stages.
  • What are your hours of operation?

Our center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, to accommodate the needs of working families.
  • What is your teacher-to-child ratio?

We adhere to Rhode Island DHS regulations for classroom ratios. For infants, we maintain a 1:4 ratio, toddlers 1:6, preschool 1:9, and pre-k 1:10. These ratios ensure each child receives personalized attention in a safe learning environment.
  • What safety measures and security procedures do you have in place?

Safety is our top priority. We implement comprehensive security measures including staff background checks, CPR/First Aid certification, security cameras, locked entrances with keypad entry, classroom doorbell systems, and regular safety drills. We also consult with local law enforcement on emergency procedures.
  • Are meals and snacks provided, and how do you handle food allergies?

Families are responsible for providing meals and snacks. Our facility is nut-free. We take food allergies very seriously and create individualized allergy action plans for each child in line with DHS guidelines.
  • What curriculum or learning philosophy do you follow?

Our curriculum is play-based and aligns with Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards. We offer developmentally appropriate activities tailored to each child's needs and interests, focusing on all areas of development including social-emotional, language, literacy, math, science, and physical skills.
  • How do you communicate with parents?

We use the Brightwheel app for parent communication. This secure platform allows parents to check children in/out, receive daily updates, view photos, access billing information, and stay informed about important announcements.
  • What is your enrollment process?

Our enrollment process begins with scheduling a tour. After the tour, families complete registration and submit a non-refundable deposit. Depending on availability, children are either enrolled or placed on a waitlist. Prior to the start date, all required paperwork must be completed.
  • What is your sick policy?

Our illness policy follows Rhode Island Department of Health guidelines. Children should stay home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other signs of communicable illness. We have specific return-to-school requirements and procedures for medication administration. We also maintain up-to-date medical records and immunizations for all children.
  • Do you offer financial aid, sibling discounts, or accept childcare assistance programs?

We offer sibling discounts and accept Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) and Military Child Care Assistance for eligible families.
